The major fundraiser for the Helene Cody Foundation is the Helene Cody Cranbury 5k & One Mile Fun Run. This event honors the memory of Helene Cody, who passed away from a brain aneurysm on her 16th birthday in 2008. Helene had planned to revive the Cranbury Day 5K that had been previously discontinued as a way to combine her love of distance running and community service. Her classmate hosted the first Helene Cody Cranbury 5K after her passing in 2008, and ever since, the Helene Cody Foundation has used the race to bring the community together and fund youth service projects and scholarships.
