Health and Family Union – EVERYONE’S WELCOME

Run, walk, or wheel through central Phoenix using Central Avenue. The Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K use street course routes with minimal elevation changes, and all are fast, flat, and perfect for a PR (Personal Record or Personal Best). The Half Marathon course works its way through downtown using additional city streets, and it is an ideal training run for the Boston Marathon. Pride Run Phoenix is light rail accessible with easy access to the start, finish, and expo block party. Park at any of the free light rail park and ride lots and use the Central Avenue and McDowell Road light rail stop. There is ample parking around the event. Plan for general street parking, use any free light rail park and ride lot, or park for $10 in the designated event parking lot at Palm Lane and Alverado Road while spaces are available. The event is also easily accessible using Uber, Lyft, or taxi. The courses are sports stroller, running chair, handcycle, sports wheelchair, walker, and cane friendly but are not pet-friendly. Well behaved leashed pets are welcome at the start, finish, and expo. Make sure you plan to stick around and enjoy the expo block party with a fun atmosphere, entertainment, exhibitors, and unique midtown vibe. As a participant, 21 years of age or older, your first beer is free thanks to our sponsor, North Mountain Brewing.

Laura’s Run – Virtual Event

Laura’s Run – Virtual Event

Event Details

Join us virtually as we celebrate the 15th Annual Laura’s Run, celebrating the life of Laura Hart Burdick and the amazing work she has inspired. Laura’s Run features a 10K & 5K Run, 1 Mile Run/Walk and Doggie Trot.

The first “Laura’s Run” was held in 2007. It was organized by Laura’s family and friends as a celebration of her remarkable spirit. Everyone agreed that it was a fun day of shared remembrances and family-friendly events. The recurring question was, “Are we going to do this again next year?” The answer was “Yes!” So began the annual “Laura’s Run”, proceeds from which support the lung transplant program at the Norton Thoracic Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Rio Salado Trail Run 15K | 10K | 5K

Event Details

COVID-19 – For everyone’s safety and protection, this year, with the surging COVID-19 infection rate and state and city limitations, Rio Salado Trail Run has gone to a virtual event. We will be offering deferrals into the next physical event on February 5, 2022, transfers into this year’s virtual event, or full refunds for those already registered in this year’s physical event.

Looking for a more interactive virtual experience? Help us beta test the OpenRace app on your mobile IOS GPS device. Make sure you have registered by Thursday, February 4, 2021 to participate. Instructions for downloading and using the app will be sent in a participant reminder in advance of event day. Then, make sure you are logged in to the correct event race category prior to the start of the race and countdown to the start with the app. Open race will start you, track you against other race participants throughout the race, and will let you know you have finished the race upon completing the required distance.

When not wanting to participate in OpenRace or when needing to use a device other than IOS to track your results, remember to record your results after completing.

Become one with nature during this unique trail run near downtown Phoenix, Arizona! Maybe you’ll catch a glimpse of one of the Burrowing Owls being reintroduced or one of many other neat creatures the salt river has to offer you as you work your way through the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration area. Now that’s cool!

What’s even cooler, you’ll know you’re supporting the continuous revegetation efforts of the Rio Salado Habitat, which helps the Rio Salado Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary and more. So, year after year you can take pride as you run or walk this unique habitat and watch the changes happening knowing you have a hand in helping to protect and improve it.
Courses wind up and down, along and across, the Rio Salado Salt River and its banks. Choose from the chip-timed 15K, 10K or 5K, and you’ll find yourself running or walking a challenging and fun mixed terrain looping course with varying elevations.
