2022 will mark the 12th Anniversary of the Magic City Half Marathon & 5K and we will make sure your experience is the best one yet! Over the last 11 years of the event, we have grown from a small local running event to Alabama’s premier fall running event. With over 2,100 racers in 2019, the City of Birmingham has embraced this classic fall event thanks in part to one of the most unique finishes in the Southeast, with a lap on the warning track before the finish line just behind home plate of Regions Field – home of the Southern League’s Birmingham Barons.

Our events benefit the Ruben Studdard Foundation for the Advancement of Children in the Music Arts and are the fall focus event for Girls on the Run of Birmingham.

The Magic City Half Marathon Weekend features amazingly soft race t-shirts. post-race beer, one of the BEST finisher medals in the business – and of course a fantastic run in the heart of Birmingham.

The marquee running events include The Magic City Half Marathon and 5K as well as the mile fun run/walk for all ages!
