PRESS RELEASE: DC Front Runners joins Pride Run Series by RaceLookup [July 1, 2019]

The DC Front Runners Pride Run Foundation is pleased to announce that it has joined the Pride Run Series, a group of road races that celebrate the values of Inclusion, Diversity, Equality, and Acceptance (#IDEA).

The Pride Run Series is a new initiative of RaceLookup LLC, a Phoenix, Arizona-based company. The DC Front Runners Pride Run 5K is the third event in RaceLookup’s Pride Run Series. The other two events are the Las Vegas Pride Run (10K and 5K), which takes place on January 18, 2020, and the Phoenix Pride Run (Half-marathon, 10K, and 5K) which takes place March 21, 2020.

The DC Front Runners has organized its Pride Run each year since 2013 at Historic Congressional Cemetery in southeast Washington, DC. The race has become a staple on the DC race calendar, attracting 1,600 registrants most recently on June 7, 2019 and raising $40,000 for local, LGBTQ+ and youth-supporting charities.

“Washington DC is an amazing place and so is our Pride Run,” said Lennie Carter, Executive Director of the Pride Run Foundation, which is a designated 501(c)3 charity. “Our spectator-friendly course along the Anacostia river creates an electric atmosphere that motivates and inspires. We are delighted to join the Pride Run Series whose #IDEA values we endorse and share,” said Carter.

“We are very excited about this partnership. The Pride Run Series is based on the idea of bringing a set of unique, fun, and exciting runs together for people to enjoy where everyone is welcome to participate,” said Dan Shabra, Managing Director of RaceLookup.

“Anyone having attended a Pride Run knows how much fun they are, and too often we find individuals missing out on these unique experiences because they don’t recognize they too are welcome,” said Kurt Gross, Managing Director of RaceLookup.
