The Rockford Road Runners (RRR) became an organized running club on September 17, 1968. The prime objective of the organization is to promote, educate, and encourage running and walking to the public. To accomplish this objective, RRR sponsors/conducts various races, sponsors social events, publishes RRR club newsletters, maintains club websites, provides the RRR Race Circuit, presents recognition awards, and many other things that may be conducive to the encouragement of running and walking. The Rockford Road Runners club is an ongoing member club of the Road Runners Club of America.
