We support community events and activities that promote equality and inclusion and that respect diversity and acceptance for everyone.
Weekly Run & Walk Schedule
Each weekly run and walk is open to all individuals, and there are no costs or membership requirements to attend. We have a welcoming group of runners and walkers with a range of fitness levels, and no one is left behind. You are welcome to participate when you want, and on the days you want. We exercise for approximately an hour and then select a place to eat and socialize afterward, which is optional. Click or tap on the individual activities below for additional details.

Phoenix Frontrunners has a long and exciting history. We started our club with three runners who came together to run once every two weeks. Since then, we have grown substantially and currently have three running and walking activities every week.
We started out in the Phoenix Metropolitan area in 1999 and took on the name Arizona Frontrunners 2001. We then changed our name to Phoenix Frontrunners in 2013. We did this to align our name with our city location, which also helps us align with our peer Front Runner organizations across the United States.
Phoenix Frontrunners started out as a chapter of International Front Runners frontrunners.org.
Front Runner organizations take their name from “The Front Runner” novel by Patricia Nell Warren, which first published in 1974. It is a love story about a proud, out, world-class college distance runner and his coach, and their struggle to compete in the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
The first Front Runner organization started in San Francisco in 1974 and adopted their name in 1978. The concept for the international organization began back in 1986.
